We had such an amazing time at the 28th Annual Guam Micronesia Island Fair over the weekend (June 12, 13, 14). Thanks to everyone on the island who stopped by the Guam Unique Merchandise & Art tent. It was wonderful talking and meeting you all and those who are living here temporary through the military. We had one military couple say they were blown away by the beauty of the island and the culture. They were surprised of the Spanish influence and how happy they were to be here with their kids. We invited them to our next historical tour of Guam that would be held this weekend at Chamorro Village with a walk over to the San Antonio de Padua Bridge.
We had a lot of people thank us for creating “Explore, Learn and Color Guam,” and how they used it to tour and learn about the island. They also enjoyed the downloadable audio in Chamorro.
I also had he opportunity to sell several original pieces of paintings to people whom I know purchased them because of the deep connection they have to our island and culture.
To end this entry, I would like to THANK the organizers and board of directors of GUMA (Guam Unique Merchandise & Art). Thank you for your time, your support and for the wonderful opportunity that you have given Guam’s artisans. We would not be here without your continued support and belief in us. Thanks so much for creating the program! I also want to say to our fellow classmates in the program – we miss you already.
